The Silvergrey Sea
Part Five: The Best Laid Plans
Angst of a God
* * *
The Feral called Poseidon had never been a natural creature; it had been born broken. It had a mind deafened by its own thoughts.
No matter how loudly it shouted them, no one else ever heard.
Then had come the other, the Wanderer. He told the Poseidon how to get others to hear him, and how to hear them. Together, they made it happen. They healed him.
So, its children were born. They gave Poseidon ears to hear and a mouth to speak. These offspring, these Templars opened the whole of Reality to the crippled Feral.
Then they all went away and locked it inside its own mind again. Much worse than not having was not having coupled with the remembrance of having. Traces of memories gone had resurfaced. It needed to be whole again.
Now, it had again been thwarted. It knew its agents were still active. It would have to wait and hope, both unfamiliar activities. Its frustration abated slightly.
The Sea God would be again.
