An Element Awakens to Purpose

Forever fire.

Then time happened.

Suddenly, there was a ‘now.’

Memory was not something the Alchemical Fyre kept or valued. It had been incarnated as the Fyre Child and now had time. Time meant the accumulation of memories. Those of many, many other lives were absent but would come soon. There were few, as yet. The brief time entombed in another’s flesh. Then the irruption into its element. Screams then and the sound of flames, then of wind, and the feeling of speed.

The meeting with their father.

Something happened then. A feeling. A connection, yielding yet iron hard, between them and their parent. Affection. Pride. A momentary, though stinging sorrow that there would be no other meetings with this parent. A rebellious denial of that prediction. Emotions were coming fast, now. No way to know if that was supposed to be. Against their nascent purpose, the Fyre Child promised their father that they would meet again.

No knowledge did they have. The Child of Fyre was yet too simple for something so entangling as intellect and reason. They merely followed the path of their Will. Without knowing how, they opened the way to Oerth.

Now the task to be done before the reason for their incarnation could be fulfilled.

Somewhere on this tomb of a world the Æthyr awaited, unknowing, the summons to incarnation as the Essence.
