The Hermetists, pirate archivists and spelunkers of all the secrets of the Aions, are the chief mariners of the Silvergrey Sea, an interstitial, shoreless, bottomless, and skyless ocean that joins worlds and has many secret coves. The case will lead Harry from his homeworld of Noir through a world of ice and fire, to the hidden home of the Hermetist Order, and finally deep into that Sea. He learns that his client is an escapee from an outlawed sect of Hermetists who are hunting in the Silvergrey for a carefully buried secret. They’ve killed for it many times and will seek Harry’s blood if that’s the price that must be paid. And that’s not the worst of it. When Harry learns what they’re after, he thinks maybe death isn’t so bad an option.Life used to be so much simpler.
